A virtue to practise

Trustworthy

Being trustworthy means people can count on you to keep your word and look after what matters to them.

What being trustworthy means

Trust is built slowly, through lots of small promises kept, and it can be lost quickly. A trustworthy person turns up when they said they would, keeps private things private, and tells the truth. When you are trustworthy, people feel safe relying on you.

How to practise being trustworthy

  1. Only make promises you can keep, and then keep them.
  2. Be on time, or let people know early if you will be late.
  3. Look after anything you borrow as if it were your own.
  4. Do the right thing even when nobody is watching.
