A virtue to practise

Creativity

Creativity is using your imagination to make something new, or to find a fresh way to solve a problem.

What creativity means

Everyone is creative, not just artists. You are being creative when you build a cubby, cook with whatever is left in the fridge, or find a new way to explain something to a friend. Creativity grows when you stay curious and are willing to get things wrong on the way to getting them right.

How to practise creativity

  1. Think of three different ways to do an everyday job, then try one of them.
  2. Make something with your hands: draw, build, write, cook or sing.
  3. When you get stuck, ask "What if...?" and follow the idea for a while.
  4. Share an idea even if it isn't finished yet.
