A virtue to practise
Courage
Courage is doing what is right, or what matters, even when you feel afraid.
What courage means
Courage is not the same as having no fear. A brave person feels the fear and acts anyway. It can be big, like standing up for someone who is being picked on, or small, like asking a question in class or being the first to say sorry.
How to practise courage
- Speak up kindly when you see someone being treated unfairly.
- Do one small thing today that makes you a little nervous.
- Tell the truth about a mistake before anyone finds out.
- Ask for help when you need it. That takes courage too.
