A virtue to practise
Responsible
Being responsible means doing what you are meant to do, and owning your choices and what comes from them.
What being responsible means
Responsible people can be counted on. They finish their jobs, look after what they are in charge of, and don't blame others when something goes wrong. Responsibility grows with you: the more you show you can handle, the more people trust you with.
How to practise being responsible
- Finish your jobs, like homework, chores or tasks at work, before anyone reminds you.
- If you break or lose something, say so and help put it right.
- Look after a pet, a plant or your own belongings carefully.
- When something goes wrong, think about what you could do differently rather than who to blame.
